The water will be shut down in Withycombe Hall Room 183 July 28, 2025 from 6:00 am to 8:00 am to tie into cold water line for filtration system. This will affect only the lab water and fume hood cold water in Room 183.

EH&S has asked us to remind building occupants thatwater will not be available to emergency eyewash/shower units, and occupants should discontinue all hazardous substance use (chemicals, unsealed radioisotopes, and biohazardous materials) for the duration of the shutdown

As part of the Withycombe Hall Renovation project, a planned power outage will occur at Withycombe Hall on Friday, June 6 from 5:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Emergency power will be available for generator-connected systems during this shutdown. The building will be open, but with limited operations. Airflow will be limited in the building.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? 
Please ensure that all electronic devices not connected to emergency power are powered down and that all computers, printers, copiers and other electronic devices are turned off prior to Friday, June 6. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.

As part of the Withycombe Hall Renovation project, SW Campus Way will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for a crane pick. This closure will be in effect on Friday, February 21 from 8 a.m. to 5:30. The sidewalks on SW CampusWay will also be closed in this area; pedestrians may navigate around the south side of LPSC.

As part of the Withycombe Hall Renovation project, a section of SW Campus Way will be closed between SW 30th St. and the Agricultural and Life Sciences Building starting on Monday, January 6.

Please see the closure schedule below:

  • 1/6: eastbound lane closed between SW 30th St. and the ALS Building. Single-lane traffic permitted. The south sidewalk will be closed in front of Linus Pauling Science Center. Flaggers will be present to direct pedestrians and vehicles through the area.

  • 1/7 – 1/13: full road closure between SW 30th St. and the ALS Building. No vehicle traffic permitted. A detour for emergency vehicles will be provided. The south sidewalk will be open for pedestrians.

SW Campus Way will reopen after 5:30 p.m. each day to allow vehicle access after work hours.

Both the north and south sidewalks in this section of Campus Way will be closed.

As part of the Withycombe Hall Renovation project, the access road/fire lane located between Withycombe Hall and the East Greenhouses will be closed starting Friday, October 25 – Tuesday, October 29.

The closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

A temporary pathway will be available for pedestrians traveling through the work zone.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained.
