UPDATE: Memorial Place Sidewalk, Bike Lane & Parking Reopened

This is an update to a previous notification.

The sidewalk, bike lane and service parking spaces on SW Memorial Place near Kelley Engineering Center have reopened. The KEC east entrances have reopened as well.

12/15 – 1/6: Memorial Pl. Sidewalk & Bike Lane Closed at Kelley Engineering Center

The sidewalk and bicycle lane on the west side of Memorial Place will be closed at Kelley Engineering Center starting on Monday, Dec. 15 through Tuesday, Jan. 6 to allow for concrete repairs. The building entrances on the east side of KEC will also be closed. Service parking spaces on Memorial Place will be closed.

7/14 – 7/18: SW Western Blvd./SW 35th St. Work Update

This is an update on a water pipeline and road improvement project led by the city of Corvallis. Work is expected to continue through September 2025. Typical work hours for this project will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  To sign up for updates on this project from the city, visit https://www.corvallisoregon.gov/subscribe and select the Transportation Project – Western Blvd, 35th St, 11th St subscription list.

Planned projects for the week of July 14-18

  • Sidewalk ADA ramp work will continue at the following locations:
    • SW 35th St. and Western Blvd.
    • Various locations on Western Blvd. between SW 26th St. and SW 15th St.

Traffic & travel impacts

  • Both SW 35th St. and Western Blvd. will remain open to vehicle traffic.
    • Lane shifts/closures will be in place to create work zones.
    • Lane width will be reduced on SW 35th St. south of Western Blvd.
      • Please use caution when traveling through this area.
    • Flaggers will be present at times to direct traffic on Western Blvd.
  • Changes to city bus stops will be in effect.
  • Bicyclists will be directed to ride with traffic through marked work zones.
  • Sidewalks may be unavailable at various times in these areas and pedestrians will be directed to detour.

4/7 – 4/11: Western Blvd./35th St. Signal Shutdown & Traffic Changes

Impacts for the week of April 7 – 11

  • Traffic on Western Blvd. between West Hills Rd. and SW 35th St. will be limited to one lane in each direction. All lanes will reopen at the end of each workday.
  • The signal at 35th St. and Western Blvd. will be shut down and become a four-way stop. Temporary stop signs will be in place. The intersection will remain open in all directions. The signal will be restored at the end of each workday.
  • The entrance to Deon St. from Western Blvd. will be closed. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
  • Bike lanes will be closed and bikes will ride with traffic.
  • Temporary changes to CTS bus stops are possible. See https://www.corvallisoregon.gov/cts for city bus information.

Washington Way Multi-Use Path Closed through 10/11

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, the SW 26th – 35th St. section of the multi-use path on the south side of Washington Way will be closed through Friday, October 11.

The sidewalk and cycle track on the north side of Washington Way will remain open.

5/29 – 6/10: Campus Way Closed Between 26th Street & Memorial Place

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, SW Campus Way between SW 26th St. and SW Memorial Place will be closed starting Wednesday, May 29 through Monday, June 10.  The closure is necessary to allow for crane activity related to the project. Unlike recent, intermittent closures related to the project, this will be a continuous closure of Campus Way.

The Kelley Engineering Center south entrance will also be closed.

Intermittent Campus Way Closures Near Kelley Engineering Center Starting 4/22

Please note: this will NOT be a continuous closure. Expect to see multiple, short-term closures, with the area being reopened for use in between. These short-term closures will be ongoing through June 8.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, intermittent closures will occur on Campus Way between 26th St. and Memorial Place, starting Monday April 22 through Saturday, June 8. The closures are necessary to allow for crane activity related to the project.

The Kelley Engineering Center south entrance will also be closed.

The north sidewalk and both bicycle lanes in this section of Campus Way will be closed intermittently during this time period. The south sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians. A bicycle detour will be provided.

This is a preliminary notification regarding upcoming closures on Campus Way.

Please note: this will NOT be a continuous, long-term closure. Expect to see multiple, short-term closures, with the area being reopened for use in between. A Campus Notification will be sent out for each closure, noting the specific dates and durations.

3/22 – Memorial Place Sidewalk, Bike Lane & Parking Space Closure

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, a section of the west sidewalk and bicycle lane on SW Memorial Place will be closed on Friday, March 22 from 5 – 9 A.M. The closures will be located between Kelley Engineering Center and Plageman Student Health Center.

Three service parking spaces on the east side of Memorial Place will also be closed.

Other possible impacts include noise near the work site.
