3/21: SW Campus Way Westbound Lane & Sidewalk Closure

As part of the West Greenhouse Improvement project, a section of the westbound lane on SW Campus Way will be closed along with the north sidewalk on Tuesday, March 21 from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. The section affected is located between SW 30th and SW 35th Streets, just west of the greenhouses. Drivers should expect to see flagging crews in the area. Pedestrians may travel along the north or south sidewalk and then detour across SW Campus Way at the crosswalk located at the Seed Laboratory. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the construction site.

Two maps are shown. The first map shows a pedestrian detour route on Campus Way between 30th and 35th Streets. The detour runs from the intersection with 30th St. along the south sidewalk of Campus Way. The route crosses Campus Way via a crosswalk at the Seed Laboratory and proceeds down the north sidewalk to 35th St. The second map shows a vehicle detour on Campus Way between 30th and 35th streets. A section of the westbound lane is shown as closed between the greenhouses and the Seed Laboratory.

3/6 – 12/1: Construction Fencing Partially Obstructing Sidewalk on SW Campus Way

As part of the West Greenhouse Improvement project, construction fencing will be placed along the north sidewalk of SW Campus Way.

The fencing will extend from the driveway west of the greenhouses to the western side of the Seed Laboratory. The fencing will create a minor obstruction along the inside edge of the sidewalk, while still allowing pedestrian access in compliance with regulations. Pedestrians who use this sidewalk are advised to use extra caution and be aware of possible obstructions.

The map shows the location of construction fencing placed along a section of the north sidewalk of SW Campus Way. The fencing extends from just west of the greenhouses to the western side of the Seed Laboratory. The picture shows the legs of the fence placed on the inner edge of the sidewalk, with a three foot clearance to the outside edge.

1/18/23 – 9/1/23: Permanent Closure of West Greenhouse Parking Lot & Limited Access to North Campus Way Sidewalk, 30th to 35th Streets

As part of the New West Greenhouse project, the West Greenhouse Complex parking lot will be permanently closed. Pedestrian access to the north sidewalk along Campus Way between 30th & 35th Streets will be limited throughout the duration of the project.

1/13/23 – 3/7/23: Construction Fencing Partially Obstructing Sidewalk on the North Side of SW A Avenue Between SW 15th & SW 16th Streets.

As part of the Pride Center Renovation project, construction fencing will be placed along the north sidewalk on SW A Avenue between SW 15th and SW 16th Streets. The fencing will create a minor obstruction along the inside edge of the sidewalk, while still allowing pedestrian access in compliance with regulations. Pedestrians who use this sidewalk are advised to use extra caution and be aware of possible obstructions. Please see below for a map and photo of the area.

9/12-/9/13/2022: Glass repair work scheduled at George W. Peavy Forest Science Center

From Monday, September 12, 2022 through Tuesday, September 13, 2022, contractors will be onsite at George W. Peavy Forest Science Center replacing a pane of glass on the third floor of the building. A 60-foot lift will be onsite and the sidewalk located on the east side of the building in the small arboretum area will be roped off. Pedestrians can access the building from the north entrance.

8/3-8/5/2022: Multiple sidewalk closures scheduled between SW 26th St., SW Benton Pl. and SW Washington Way

For work related to the Washington Way Improvement Project, multiple sidewalk closures are scheduled between SW 26th Street, SW Benton Place & SW Washington Way. Sidewalk closures are scheduled to start at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 through 5 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022.

8/5/2022-June 2024: North/south sidewalk closure on east side of Cordley Hall

As part of the Cordley Hall Renewal Project, the north/south sidewalk on the east side of Cordley Hall will be closed due to construction activities from Friday, August 5, 2022 until June 2024.

This sidewalk is between Cordley Hall, Bates Hall and the Hallie E. Ford Center. The closure is between SW Campus Way and SW Orchard Ave.

7/11-7/22/2022: Fire lane & sidewalk closure south of Valley Library along SW Jefferson Way extended

For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, there will be a closure of the fire lane and sidewalk south of the Valley Library along SW Jefferson Way (view map). The closure of the fire lane and sidewalk has been extended through Friday, July 22, 2022. As part of the planned work, grinding, saw cutting, and concrete and asphalt demolition will occur.
