As part of an ongoing waterline replacement project led by the city of Corvallis, SW 35th St. will be fully closed at the railroad crossing starting on Monday, Nov. 24 – Wednesday, Nov. 26. SW Washington Way will also be closed at SW 35th St.

Local access will be maintained for OSU employees. OSU vehicles may travel west on Washington Way, through the closure zone, and cross SW 35th St. to access OSU facilities behind the fire station. 

Emergency vehicle access will be permitted.

Bike lanes will be closed. Sidewalks will remain open.

Transportation Services will be closing multiple parking lots across campus for sweeping and leaf pick-up starting Monday, November 24 through Wednesday, November 26.


Please remove all vehicles from the impacted lots by 7 a.m. (see list of parking lots and dates below). Transportation Services will not be towing vehicles, but any vehicles remaining in these lots may get dirty due to equipment working nearby. OSU is not responsible for damage to any personal vehicles.

Alternate parking lots
A vehicle with any valid parking permit may be parked in any open B or C zone commuter lots for the entire day on 11/24, 11/25 and 11/26.

The city of Corvallis is currently conducting a waterline replacement project on SW 35th St. and SW Western Blvd. During the week of Nov. 17 – Nov. 21, concrete and pavement work will be occurring near the intersection of SW 35th St. and Western Blvd. and in various other locations bordering the OSU campus. In addition, work conducted by NW Natural may be impacting traffic at SW 35th St. and Western Blvd.

All streets are scheduled to remain open, but drivers should be prepared to encounter lane closures and traffic pattern changes along SW 35th St. and Western Blvd.

Bikes may be directed to ride with traffic at times and pedestrians should follow signage regarding detours.

As part of an ongoing waterline replacement project led by the city of Corvallis, paving work will be occurring on SW 35th St. and Western Blvd. starting Monday, November 10 – Wednesday, November 12.

Paving will start on SW 35th St. at Washington Way, progress south to Western Blvd. and then west to West Hills Rd.

Streets will remain open and local access to OSU facilities in the area will be maintained, but drivers should expect intermittent closures for through traffic, detours and changes in traffic patterns. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Pedestrian detours will be marked with signage.

As part of renovation work happening at Hovland Hall, the steam system will be shut down on Wednesday, November 12 from 5:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The building will experience slightly cooler temperatures during this time frame.

SW 35th St.
As part of a waterline replacement project led by the city of Corvallis, the north side of the intersection at SW 35th St. and SW Western Blvd. will be closed starting Wednesday, Oct. 29 – Friday, Oct. 31 No vehicle traffic will be permitted to travel north on SW 35th St. except for emergency vehicles.

  • To access the Western Building and Shops parking lot, vehicles must approach the entrance from the north on SW 35th St. (See map below)
  • Intermittent lane closures and traffic pattern changes may be in place on SW 35th St., north of the closure area.

Western Blvd.

  • Open to traffic in both directions.
  • Lane shifts may be in place at times to accommodate waterline work at SW Deon Dr. and SW 35th St.

SW Deon Dr. & SW Sagebrush Dr.

  • The north side of the intersection at SW Deon Dr. and SW Western Blvd. will be closed at times on 10/27 and 10/28 to allow for waterline work.
  • The intersection at SW Sagebrush Dr. and SW 35th St. will be closed at times, but not during the SW Deon Dr. closure.

Due to renovation work happening at Gilkey Hall, a drilling rig and a vacuum truck will be working on the east side of Gilkey Hall starting Monday, October 27 through Monday, November 24. Work hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Building occupants in Strand Hall, Kidder Hall and the surrounding area may notice an increase in construction-related noise.
