As part of the Community Hall Slope Project, Oregon State University will begin work in early July 2021 to update the area shown in the map image below to provide access through this portion of OSU’s Corvallis campus for all people. ADA improvements related to the project will also require reconstruction of building entrances to Gladys Valley, the Pharmacy Building and Joyce Collin Furman Hall. There will be an open entrance to each building at all times.

We will work to accommodate the needs of users working within the project area, but there will be disruptions to many day-to-day activities. If you have specific concerns regarding this project and how it may impact you or your work, please contact with Construction Manager Lindsey Austin at 541-990-7720, to work through any issues.

Update:  Annual steam shutdown has been extended due to asbestos contamination in a portion of the tunnel. All steam activity had to be delayed for the environmental cleanup contractor to remove and dispose of the asbestos in a safe manner. Restoration of steam distribution will begin on Monday June 21, 2021 at 6:00 am and it is expected to be fully restored by noon on Monday.

Scheduled: Annual Steam Shutdown-Campus Wide

Effective Date(s): June 13, 8:00 pm- June 17, 2021 3:00 pm

Each year Facilities Services performs necessary maintenance on the university’s steam system, which requires shutting off the steam throughout campus, to complete maintenance services at the plant, throughout the steam tunnels and in each building.  This process affects hot water supply, heating, and all equipment that uses steam, campus wide.  The steam shutdown for 2021 will occur June 13th 8:00 pm – June 17th, 2021 3:00 pm.

For questions or comments on this closure, contact Facilities Services at 541-737-2969.
