For work related to the Washington Way Improvement Project, a closure is planned for the western portion of the sidewalk and driveway access south of Dixon Recreation Center and Goss Stadium along SW Washington Way. A contractor will be onsite excavating a trench to install new conduit for future relocated power.

For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, the access hatch (JWH8) to the utility tunnel will be removed and relocated. The current hatch is located on Jefferson Avenue across from Kerr Administration Building. Additional access hatches can be found west, north, and east of this location. Communication lines in the tunnel in this area are temporarily supported and impede movement. Staff should avoid this area of the tunnel, if possible.

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation Project, a closure of the Monroe Ave. and 16th Street parking lot (lot #3221) is scheduled to start on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 through Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily. Pacific Power will be on site performing electrical service installation work during the closure.

Parking lot #3221 area map

For work related to the Washington Way Improvement Project, tree removal work along SW Washington Way between SW 30th and SW 26th streets is scheduled to start on Monday, March 21, 2022 through Thursday, March 24, 2022. Expect intermittent roadway and sidewalk closures related to the tree removal work. Flaggers will be on site to direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic when traffic interruptions occur. Along the north side of SW Washington Way, 27 red maple trees must be removed to accommodate the wider roadway and for the City of Corvallis water line replacement to occur. The 25-year-old trees will be replaced with new diverse trees and shrubs as part of the project’s landscape design. The Student Legacy Park South parking lot (lot #3293) will also be closed from Monday, March 21, 2022 through Thursday, March 24, 2022 for the tree removal work.

Additionally, a contractor will be on site to perform waterline potholing work at the intersection of SW 35th Street and SW Washington Way from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Flaggers will be onsite at the intersection and traffic impacts are expected to be minimal.

For work related to the Community Hall Slope Project, a planned power outage is scheduled. The planned power outage will impact multiple buildings located along or near SW Jefferson Way in the Community Hall Slope Project work area. The outage is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The following buildings will be without power from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022:

  • Buxton Hall
  • Callahan Hall 
  • Cauthorn Hall
  • Hawley Hall 
  • McNary Hall
  • Poling Hall 
  • Wilson Hall 

The following buildings will be without power and CLOSED from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022:

  • Heckart Lodge
  • Kerr Administration Building
  • McAlexander Field House
  • McNary Dining Hall (the Service Center will be open)
  • Reed Lodge
  • Snell Hall
  • West Dining Hall

Employees scheduled to work when buildings are without power should consult with their supervisors regarding work schedules. For more information regarding work scheduling, please refer to the instructions regarding Interruptions of University Operations.

What do you need to do to prepare for this outage? Please make sure that all computers, printers, copiers, and other electronic devices are turned off prior to March 22, 2022. If you have an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), also known as a battery back-up, please be sure to turn it off as well.

Update: The closure for parking lot #3221 has been extended through Thursday, March 17, 2022 for paving work.

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation, the Monroe Ave. and 16th Street parking lot (lot #3221) will be closed for paving and ground floor entries to the building will be inaccessible. Excavation and forming for the concrete work will start on Monday, March 7, 2022 and will continue through the paving of the lot. The parking lot will now be closed starting on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Please use caution and watch for workers and equipment in the parking lot during this time.

The south entrance to Graf Hall (on the parking lot side) will be closed starting Monday, March 7. The north building entrance, located along Monroe Ave., will remain open for pedestrians.

As part of the Graf Hall Renovation Project, work to connect a storm drain between Graf Hall and Rogers Hall is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Vehicle access via the ramp from the Monroe Ave. & 16th St. parking lot (lot #3221) to the lower level will be restricted and pedestrians won’t be able to access the lower level area while work is taking place.
