Due to a chilled water line failure on the east side of Cordley Hall, the North District Utility Plant will be shut down until the failed line can be located and repairs are complete. This shutdown will affect cooling systems in all impacted areas, including all floors of Cordley West, ALS , Nash, Burt and Wilkinson Halls.

Updates will be provided as soon as possible.

As part of the LaSells Stewart Center Mechanical and Roof Renewal project, a section of the northbound lane on SW 26th St., between SW Western Blvd. and The LaSells Stewart Center, will be closed to allow for crane activity on Tuesday, October 3 from 7 A.M. to 2 P.M. Flaggers will be present in the area to direct traffic.

In addition, a section of the sidewalk on the east side of 26th St. will be closed along with the crosswalk near the front entrance and the walkway on the north side of The LaSells Stewart Center. The west sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

As part of the Washington Way Improvement project, SW Washington Way between SW 17th & SW 26th Streets will remain closed through Tuesday, October 31.

In addition to the road closure, the sidewalk on the north side of Washington Way between 17th & 26th Streets will be closed. Pedestrians may use the multi-use path on the south side of Washington Way as a detour.

The Gilbert Hall elevator will be out of service effective Wednesday, September 27. Due to the need for repair and specialized parts, this is expected to be an extended service outage. A temporary, ADA-accessible ramp will be constructed on the east side of the building which will allow access to the first floor classroom. The ramp is currently under construction and is expected to be complete by Monday, October 2.

ADA access to the Gilbert Hall basement will remain available from the NW Monroe Avenue entrance. Access to the second and third floors will be available via the Gilbert Hall Addition across the bridge into Gilbert Hall.

As part of the Student Legacy Park Resurfacing project, the SLP fields and tennis courts will be reopening on Tuesday, September 26th. While the fields and tennis courts will be available for use, other areas within the park will remain closed through October 6.

The parking areas and sidewalk on SW Washington Way will remain closed through October 6 along with the basketball courts.

While the entry points to the park along Washington Way will remain closed, access to the park will be available from SW 26th St., SW Intramural Lane and SW 30th St. ADA parking spaces will be available on 26th St. in front of Dixon Recreation Center and on Intramural Lane.

As part of the 2023 Parking Maintenance project, multiple parking spaces in the Richardson and Dryden parking lots will be closed from Tuesday, September 26 through Friday, September 29 to allow for landscaping work. The parking lots will remain open during this project. Other possible impacts include noise, dust and mud near the worksite.

As part of the Kelley District Utility Plant project, construction activity will impact the east entrance of Kelley Engineering Center through mid-October. The east entrance will remain open during construction.

The sidewalk, bike lane and parking space closures will be in effect from Monday, September 25 through Tuesday, October 3. A section of the sidewalk and bike lane along SW Memorial Place, directly in front of the east entrance, will be closed. Pedestrians will be directed across Memorial Place to the east sidewalk. In addition, the service parking spaces and dedicated parking spaces on the east side of Memorial Place, directly across from Kelley, will be closed.

Other possible impacts include noise and dust near the work site.

Street parking spaces along SW 16th Street, SW A Avenue and SW 17th Street will be closed between SW Western Boulevard and SW May Avenue to allow for curb painting and restriping work. The spaces will be closed from Thursday, September 21 through Friday, September 22. The streets and sidewalks will remain open for vehicles and pedestrians.

As part of the project, the parking space designation will change from city parking to an OSU B2 Commuter Zone due to the city’s vacation of these streets.
