OSU’s President’s Commission on the Status of Women (PCOSW) is offering funds to cover registration costs for OSU tenure line and non-tenure line faculty, staff and students to attend the 2018 Oregon Women in Higher Education (OWHE) Conference in Lincoln City, Salishan Resort, Feb. 1-2, 2019. Scholarships average $500 and are paid by reimbursement. Applications are due Friday, Oct. 26, with notification in Week 7. OMSI Science Communication Fellows are researchers or science professionals including faculty, graduate students, technicians, or other individuals in science, engineering, health, or technology related positions. OMSI Fellows participate in a series of professional development workshops that cover science communication best practices and provide opportunities for participants to practice new skills and techniques. In collaboration with OMSI, each Fellow will develop a unique hands-on educational activity designed to communicate their research to public audiences and will join OMSI in engaging museum visitors with these activities at Meet a Scientist events.The OMSI team will be at OSU to host an informational brownbag on the Fellowship program nextThursday, October 11th from 12-1pm in LPSC 402.
