Federal Funding Available for Organic Research

With the farm bill expired, and organic research funding lacking in 2013, the USDA’sAgriculture, Food, and Research Initiative (AFRI) presents an opportunity for grant funding for researchers for organic projects.

The Agriculture, Food, and Research Initiative (AFRI) is funding up to $136 million in grants for individuals and universities in research areas that support organic farming, including Agriculture Systems and Technology, Agriculture Economics, and Rural Communities.

A Letter of Intent is due November 26, 2012. The proposal deadline is May 22, 2013. See the RFA for details.

Research organically,
Maureen Wilmot
