Polar STEAM is an NSF-funded program recruiting researchers to collaborate (virtually or in the field) with educators, artists and writers. Annual cohorts include facilitated matching with collaborators, cohort mentorship and support in building your broader impacts toolkit. Applications are open for 2025/26. We encourage applications from polar researchers across disciplines spanning social sciences to the physical sciences and mathematics. information about an opportunity for researchers from EPSCoR jurisdictions to gain information about the US Department of Defense program, DEPSCoR. DEPSCoR Day is an outreach event that allows the research community to engage with DoD program officers and DEPSCoR staff through informational sessions, posters, and speed networking. 

The University of Oklahoma colleges of engineering, arts & sciences, and atmospheric and geographic sciences are pleased to host a regional DEPSCoR outreach meeting on Thursday, April 25, in the National Weather Center, located on the University of Oklahoma’s Norman campus. The Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense Innovation Institute is a financial sponsor.

We are also coordinating with US Air Force research partners in Department 70 (sustainment, software directorate, advanced manufacturing, radar, weather) to encourage their participation with focus on projects at Tinker, Robbins, Hill, Peterson, and Offutt AFBs.
