The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine sponsors awards for postdoctoral and senior researchers at participating federal laboratories and affiliated institutions. These awards include generous stipendsranging from $45,000 – $80,000 per year for recent Ph.D. recipients, and higher for additional experience. Limitedgraduate level awards are also available. These awards provide the opportunity for recipients to do independentresearch in some of the best-equipped and staffed laboratories in the U.S. Research opportunities are open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and for some of the laboratories, foreign nationals.

Four annual review cycles:

  • May: Opens March 1; Closes May 1
  • August: Opens June 1; Closes August 1
  • November: Opens September 1; Closes November 1

Oregon State University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. As part of the ongoing accreditation process, OSU is scheduled to submit a “Year Seven Self-Evaluation Report” to the NWCCU and host a site visit of peer evaluators from April 15-17, 2019. Accreditation by the NWCCU represents the commission’s judgment that an institution is satisfactorily achieving its mission and educational purposes and that it meets or exceed the commission’s standards of quality and effectiveness. OSU has been continuously accredited by the NWCCU since 1924, having been most recently reaffirmed Spring 2011. As part of the review process, OSU invites the public to send comments regard the institution’s qualification for accreditation and/or its efforts to achieve mission fulfillment directly to the NWCCU. Oregon Sea Grant invites researchers affiliated with any Oregon institution of higher education to submit pre-proposals for two-year research projects. These projects should address cutting-edge, socioeconomic and biophysical science related to important marine and coastal issues.
