The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Boise State University is currently seeking to fill a number of teaching-track and tenure-track positions.  I am in charge of one of the search committees tasked with trying to find a physical chemist and an organic chemist to come and teach here at BSU beginning in August 2022.   Thus, I am reaching out to Chairs of Chemistry departments at regional institutions to see if they know of suitable recent Ph.D. graduates or postdocs from their programs that may be interested in this opportunity; or can pass this information on to their faculty who may have knowledge of individuals looking for positions such as these. Here is the brief job description:

Boise State University Dept. Chemistry & Biochemistry seeks to fill Two Non-tenure Track Teaching Faculty positions to begin in August 2022. These positions are eligible for promotion to the associate and full level. The primary teaching duties will be in either 1) Physical Chemistry & Physical Chemistry labs; or 2) Organic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry lab, and Advanced Synthesis. The position assignments are approximately 80% teaching and 20% departmental service. Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry (position 1), Organic Chemistry (position 2) or related scientific field, and prior teaching experience.

More information about these positions and Boise State University can be found at  https://jobs.boisestate.edu/en-us/job/496064/teaching-assistant-professor.

In addition, my colleague Dr. Lisa Warner (lisawarner@boisestate.edu) is directing the search committee for a tenure track Physical Chemist or Analytical Chemist, so I am using this opportunity to advertise that position as well. Here is the brief position description:

Boise State University invites applicants to apply for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. We seek candidates with teaching and research emphases in analytical or physical chemistry. Strong candidates will contribute to transdisciplinary graduate programs, foster collaborative research both within and outside of the department, and play an active role in building a diverse and inclusive environment in our dynamic and growing department, affiliated graduate programs, and the university. The successful candidate will develop an externally-funded research program, teach both graduate and undergraduate level courses, and mentor undergraduate, Master’s, and Ph.D. students in research.

More information on this position and about our department and Boise State University can be found at https://jobs.boisestate.edu/en-us/job/496065/assistant-professor.
