Syllabi Orientation AS (Interaction – PD)

Fall, Week 1: September 30-October 6

Competencies

  1. Understand the value of a syllabus
  2. Can articulate the components of their syllabi and integrate due dates into a schedule
  3. Can develop a term plan, including important class dates, personal commitments, job commitments, etc.
  4. Understand how each assignment and test impacts the final grade
  5. Can articulate how an instructor handles absences and how missing a class can impact grade
  6. Understand the purpose and goals of the OSU Baccalaureate Core and how to identify what categories and outcomes each bacc core course fulfills

Strategies

  1. Resident Director or academic partner facilitated program
  2. Bulletin board in central location with detachable fliers/instruction (hall staff would construct utilizing information from facilitate program resources)
