Safety Programming SaHC (Interaction – PD)

September/October, November, February (apartment searching focus)

Competencies

  1. Articulate 3 ways they can contribute to keeping their physical environment safe (not loaning keys, not allowing others to enter the building, reporting suspicious behavior, keeping their door locked when they are not at home, etc.).
  2. Identify resources to immediately report safety concerns.
  3. Have recorded and available at least three emergency resource contacts (OSP/DPS, RA hall duty phone, OSU alert, etc.).
  4. Identify at least three ways they can contribute to maintaining their personal safety outside of the residence hall.
  5. Know the proper evacuation procedures in the event of a fire alarm.
  6. Articulate what a student should do if smoke prevents them from visually seeing an exit point.
