(Free Registration Required) The Paley Center’s media archive is the largest of its kind, with over 140,000 television and radio programs and commercials spanning almost 100 years and over 70 countries. The collection has been curated to capture the most artistically and culturally significant examples in each program genre, including news, public affairs, documentaries, performing arts, children’s programming, sports, comedy and variety shows, and commercial advertising. The Center adds thousands of new programs to its archive each year, ensuring that the collection continues to document our history, as well as media’s ever‐growing influence on our society and culture.

eHRAF Archaeology is an online cross-cultural database containing descriptive information on archaeological traditions of the world and is modeled after eHRAF World Cultures. eHRAF is unique because each archaeological tradition contains a variety of full-text source documents (books, articles, and dissertations) that have been indexed and organized according to HRAF’s comprehensive tradition and subject classification systems: the Outline of Archaeological Traditions (OAT), and the Outline of Cultural Materials (OCM). These retrieval systems extend search capability well beyond keyword searching thus allowing for precise tradition and subject retrieval, even in a foreign language.

eHRAF Archaeology database provides researchers and students access to archaeological materials for comparative studies within and across regions.

The eHRAF World Cultures is an online cross-cultural database containing descriptive information on cultures and ethnic groups from around the world. eHRAF is unique because each culture contains a variety of full-text source documents (books, articles, and dissertations) that have been indexed and organized according to HRAF’s comprehensive culture and subject classification systems: the Outline of World Cultures (OWC), and the Outline of Cultural Materials (OCM). These retrieval systems extend search capability well beyond keyword searching, allowing for precise culture and subject retrieval, even in a foreign language. As a multicultural database, eHRAF appeals to many academic disciplines in the social sciences, humanities, medicine, and any other area with an interest in cultural diversity.

The World Bank eLibrary is the World Bank’s collection of 6,000+ books, reports, journals, and working papers including:

• Development Outreach, World Bank Economic Review and World Bank Research Observer journal articles published since 1996
• Development Economics (DEC) policy research working papers published since 1995
• e-books and reports (dating as far as the 1970’s in some cases) plus all new formal publications upon release

All content can be viewed online and downloaded free of DRM (with the exception of a watermark).

Govistics is the U.S.’s most comprehensive cost of government database, specializing in local government finance.  Govistics contains a decade of spending data across 8 major categories (e.g. education, public safety, social services) and 33 subcategories (e.g. K-12 education, police, welfare) for 39,000 state, county, and local governments.  Govistics also contains detailed spending data for 15,000 school districts, and its graphical interface helps users track, compare, and contextualize spending.  The data is harmonized, allowing users to perform “apples to apples” comparisons across state and county lines. Users can also download a customized spreadsheet for further analysis.
