I believe that most students will leave school after this semester to find a job or continue to earn a graduate degree. I cannot graduate in June due to the epidemic. My graduation date will be postponed to December. Although this affected my normal graduation arrangements, it also gave me time to prepare. Since my summer vacation only needs one online class, I plan to find an internship during the summer vacation. At the same time, I also received a conditional offer from UMASS. Regarding the summer internship plan, I began to compile a resume in March and send it to the corresponding company. My main internship goal is game planning training or VR game development. Fortunately, I have both obtained internship offers for these two different positions.
The first is the preparation of resumes. The resumes of interns are different from normal job resumes. Interns’ resumes should be kept between one page as much as possible, and the content should best describe their project experience or work experience at the school. If you don’t have these experiences, then talk about your views on this job position and why you should choose this job. I usually add the logos of different companies to the upper right corner of the resume. I think that in this case, HR will pay special attention to my resume when screening resumes. Between March and May, I submitted a total of 30 resumes, interviewed more than a dozen different companies, and finally got two offers for different positions last week.
For the interview skills of interns, I think the most important thing is self-confidence and calmness. Most interviews will be divided into three rounds of interviews, two rounds of technical interviews, and one round of HR interviews. In a technical interview, the interviewer will ask some questions about computer theory or understanding of the job position. If the students who often write written test questions on the Internet should be able to answer the interviewer’s questions calmly, most of the time what the interviewer wants to know is not the answer to the question, but the idea of solving the question. The question I have been asked the most is how to build the project framework and optimize the program. I will analyze different issues from different perspectives. However, most of the problems are something I haven’t learned or forgotten. At this time, I think that the interviewer should not be afraid or nervous, but should maintain a learning attitude to respond positively to the interviewer. Even if you cannot answer the question, tell the interviewer that you can make up for your shortcomings in your future work.
