Position Description
The Department of Industrial Engineering in the J. B. Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville (UofL) seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor Faculty position in the general area of ergonomics and human factors engineering, including, but not limited to, the following: occupational ergonomics and human performance, human-robot interaction, and healthcare human factors. Department Information
The Department of Industrial Engineering (IE) has been a degree granting department since the late 1970s. IE currently has 8 tenured or tenure-track faculty and 3 term faculty with the following research thrusts: operations research and decision analytics, human factors and ergonomics, and advanced manufacturing. Faculty research has been supported by a variety of federal grants and industry contracts (e.g., NSF, DoD, ONR, NIST, NASA, FHWA, Toyota, GE Appliances/Haier). Position Description:
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the interdisciplinary Department of Public Health. We seek an active and engaged colleague who has research and teaching strengths in environmental health and justice (interests may include, but are not limited to, built environments, neighborhood effects, climate justice, sustainability, disaster preparedness, etc.). We encourage applications from persons with experience conducting community-based research serving particularly vulnerable, underserved, and urban populations.
Candidates should have substantive scholarly expertise in one or more defined areas and be able to develop collaborative research efforts in the metropolitan Detroit area. We seek a colleague with an active research program, track record of published scholarship, and an ability to draw on this research to inform their teaching and service. Candidates engaged in multidisciplinary research, community-based research collaborations, and environmental justice and advocacy research are encouraged to apply. We also value candidates committed to evidence-based intervention research employing traditional and non-traditional quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g., ethnography, Photovoice, and mixed methods).
Candidates will be expected to teach required courses in the undergraduate public health curriculum. The preferred candidate will have teaching strengths that support courses such as Environmental Health, Methodological Approaches in Public Health, and Social and Behavioral Aspects of Public Health. that align with their substantive area of expertise within environmental health and justice.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a Ph.D., DrPH, or equivalent doctoral degree with expertise in environmental health, environmental sciences, environmental justice, or closely related social/behavioral science. Job Summary
The City of Salem is looking to provide an opportunity for two Wastewater Treatment Plant Interns to gain hands on work experience in the operation of the city’s two wastewater plants, Willow Lake Water Pollution Control Facility and the River Road Peak Wet Weather Treatment Facility.
Willow Lake is the primary treatment facility for the City with a dry weather secondary treatment capacity of 65 mgd, a wet weather secondary treatment capacity of 95 mgd, and a peak wet weather capacity of 155 mgd. It can be operated in trickling filter/activated sludge, conventional air activated sludge and in a combination of both processes plus selective treatment based on flow and load fluctuations.
The River Road Peak Wet Weather Treatment Facility is a high rate, physical chemical ballasted flocculation facility with ultra-violet disinfection. This facility is operated only when flows at the Willow Lake Facility are above 95 mgd. Operation of this remote facility is permitted for use to prevent sanitary sewer overflows associated with wet weather.
The City’s treatment facilities serve a population equivalent of 229,000 within a three city area with an average annual flow of 45 mgd. The facility staff of 53 employees provide Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, Biosolids, and Administrative Services for both facilities.

The Industrial and Systems Engineering Department (ISE) at SJSU has established a firm goal to provide a high-quality education to its students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Required Qualifications

The department is recruiting in all areas of human factors, human computer interface, and/or user experience. It is preferred that the candidates research area addresses either the domain of Social Robotics and Human-Robotic Technology Relations and/or Health Equity and Health Infrastructures but all domain areas of human factors will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants holding at least one degree in Industrial Engineering. Responsibilities
The person selected for this faculty position will be responsible for teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, providing leadership for the department’s graduate programs in Human Factors, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or Engineering Management, advising students including master’s projects and theses, and developing a research program related to his/her field of interest. In addition, the appointee will actively participate in strengthening the present ties between the ISE Department and its surrounding high-tech industries and will embark on establishing new connections with high tech companies. Additionally, the appointee will participate in department and college committee assignments and in other activities that connect the ISE Department to the College of Engineering and the rest of the campus.
