Cooperative Fisheries Project

Now RECRUITING New Fishers around
Newport and Port Orford
for the 2025 Sampling Season!!

The Kavanaugh Seascape Ecology Lab has proudly conducted an annual Cooperative Fisheries Research (CFR) Project during the summers since 2022, with the highly valued assistance of local fishers from the Newport, OR area. The project was initially stewarded by Raquel Gilliland under the guidance of developers Maria Kavanaugh, Lori Cramer, and Flaxen Conway, and was then managed by Kelly George during the 2024 season with the help of our wonderful undergraduate students.
We’re proud to share that the CFR Project has now been passed into the very capable hands of masters student Taylor Wood beginning in the 2025 sampling season.
Welcome, Taylor!
