2024 Sampling Season Closing SOON!!

The Kavanaugh Seascape Ecology Lab has proudly conducted an annual Cooperative Fisheries Research Project during the summers since 2022, with the highly valued assistance of local fishers from the Newport, OR area. The project was initially developed by Raquel Gilliland under the guidance of Maria Kavanaugh and Lori Cramer, and is now being managed by Kelly George with the help of our wonderful undergraduate students.

We are no longer recruiting fishers to help with sample collection during the 2024 sampling season, as sampling is scheduled to complete at the end of October 2024.

We look forward to resuming sampling during the 2025 season, and will be starting to recruit new fishers during early 2025.
