A research was conducted to see the effect of biofield treatment (known as The Trivedi Effect®) on common occurrence of cancer in male (prostate) and female (endometrium), which was published in a peer reviewed international journal (Cancer Science & Therapy). As cancer has the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body which involves abnormal cell growth. Endometrium cancer is the most common type of uterine cancer which starts in the endometrium. Most common cancer in male, especially in the western world causing death is prostate cancer. In the United States, approximately 238,590 new cases of prostate cancer with a death of about 29,720 cases. Progression of prostate cancer is through a multi-step development such as involvement of growth factor, cytokines, and hormones. In the last 70 years, cancer treatment strategies have rapidly increased. Since, prostate and endometrium cancers are most critical medical problems affecting major population across the globe. The biofield treatment on prostate and endometrium was studied and some unique type of findings were reported such as inhibitory effect of biofield on cancer biomarkers. In case of endometrium cell line, 12% reduction in cytokine concentration of interleukin-6 was observed, while in prostate cancer cells the reduction rate in interleukin-6 was very much significant as 98.8% compared with control levels. However, the effect was also very much significant alteration in case of other tested cytokine (Tumor necrosis factors, TNF-α) in both endometrium and prostate cancer cell lines. The cytokines promote the tumor development by angiogenesis and mediating cell invasion. Cancer biomarkers refer to substances or process that is indicative of the presence of specific cancer in the body, and reduction in the level of cancer biomarker by mean of biofield treatment (The Trivedi Effect®) could be an effective treatment approach in cancer science. As, chemotherapy is one of the common treatment approach, which is always associated with side effects such as hair loss, nausea, vomiting, cognitive dysfunction, change in sexual function and adverse impact on patient’s quality of life. Besides, surgery is still the main treatment strategy for early-stage diagnosis of cancer, but for advanced and reoccurrence cases multimodality therapies like radiations and chemotherapy being frequently used. While adopting these type of treatment strategies, success rate is very less, and most of these treatments attack not just cancer cells, but healthy cells too. So alternative treatment therapy must be required such as biofield treatment, which is an energy therapy under complementary and alternate medicine, and can selectively inhibit the growth of cancer cells. This approach could be safe and effective, if compared with other current treatment strategies, it could be a revolution in cancer therapy.
