Upcoming Events and Important Dates:

  • April 1, 2015:  Professional Level/Student Teaching Cohort 2015-2016 Applications Due.  See the application link on the College of Education website  http://oregonstate.qualtrics.com/SE/SID=SV_38Y552E6GA1CAQJ     Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to complete the application.  Unfortunately, once you begin the application, you can’t save the information and return to it at a later time.  You will need to have the following information ready to upload in order to complete the application:
  1. Basic Skills Score Report
  2. Civil Rights Exam Score Report
  3. Subject Area Exam Score Report (if you have taken)
  4. Current Resume
  5. Professional Goals Statement (1-2 pages explaining why you have decided to become a teacher)
  6. Letter of 60 Hours Classroom Volunteer Work Verification (if you have not taken TCE 309 or TCE 409)
  7. Updated and typed Content Mastery form
  8. Unofficial Transcripts from all institutions that you have attended.
  9. Two letters of recommendation ( 1 additional if you are using the verification letter from TCE 309/409)
  • April 7, 2015: The 2015 Oregon Professional Educator Fair at the Oregon Convention Center. Registration is required at https://www.oregonedfair.com/  There will be a large number of school districts interviewing teacher candidates at this event!
  • May 5, 2015: Beaverton School District Interviews at OSU.  You must apply to their open positions at the Oregon Professional Educator Fair or through their website to be invited to participate in these interviews.

  • Cesar Chavez Leadership Conference needs volunteers to serve on panel sessions for the high school leadership conference.  Transportation provided.

  • Digital Literacy & Culture This course can be used to meet the 3.6 Standard/Outcome on Content Mastery form for Language Arts Teachers.  WR 497/597 MWF 1-1:50 PM.
  • TCE 472/572 will hold two sessions spring term.  Thursdays from 12-1:50 PM or Fridays 3-4:50 PM.
  • TCE 476/576 will be offered Fridays from 3-4:50 PM.  This course is required for an ESOL endorsement after you have taken TCE 472 and is not built in to the Professional Level/Student Teaching Cohort schedule.
  • TCE 479/579 will be offered Fridays from 1-2:50 PM
  • ENG 488 Literature and Pedagogy:  This course will not be offered next year.  If you are planning to become a language arts teacher, please sign up for it spring term.
  • TCE 499 Teaching STEM After School:  This course will allow students to work with culturally and linguistically diverse 3-5 grade students in an afterschool program one to two days a week for 1-2 credits.
