  • College of Education staff members Lynda Thomas and Laurie Brendle-Sleipness are retiring this summer.  Please feel free to stop by and wish them well!
  • Terry Adams of the College of Education won the Inspirational Women of OSU award on May 2, 2015.  Congratulations, Terry!  You are definitely deserving of this distinguished award.
  • Summer is a great time to prepare for your licensure exams!  The OSU library has the ORELA study guides on reserve, as well as, What Your Fourth/Fifth Grader Needs to Know.  Students have found these resources extremely valuable in their test preparation efforts.
  • Beaver Careers will now be featuring available teaching positions and educator fairs on their website.

  • June 12, 2015:  College of Education Graduation Ceremony 4-5:30 PM in the Memorial Union Ballroom.  Invitations will be sent in early May by University Events to students who have applied to graduate.  You will RSVP the number of guests in your party who will be in attendance.   Refreshments will be served.

  • Professional Level/Student Teaching Cohort Applications for 2015-2016 were due Wednesday, April 1, and all applicants have been notified of their acceptance status.  Please check your email for your letter or contact Karla Rockhold for more information.
  • The College of Education has a new student lounge on the 4th floor of Furman Hall!  Stop by and check it out.  The floor also has a microwave, refrigerator, and computer lab area that students can use, too.
  • Licensure exam study guides are available in the OSU Valley Library on reserve.  We have also ordered copies of  What Your Fourth/Fifth Grader Needs to Know since students have found them to be a valuable resource for test preparation, too.

  • The Career Development Center Office Hours in the Furman 104:     Malia Arenth has joined our Student Services Team in Furman 104 to review your resume or cover letter, discuss plans for after graduation, explore options for job searches, and get to know your career development representative.  No appointment necessary.  Walk-ins are 15-30 minute sessions.  Tuesdays 3-5 PM and Wednesdays 2-4 PM.
  • If you haven’t made an advising appointment with me this year, spring term is a great time to check in!  Call our office at 541-737-4661 to schedule an advising appointment.
