SOAR OREGON BLOG SITE

In UAS news, SOAR Oregon recently added a Blog to the web site. John Stevens (Board Member) and Chuck Allen (Board Chair) are the contributors for now and  will be adding new material every couple of weeks. Although the subject can be anything that relates to UAS, there has to be references to Oregon – because that’s the purpose of all of this.There is a new menu button for “Blog” or you can just use this link.

OSU MAKES PLANS FOR EXPANSION AT HATFIELD MARINE SCIENCE CENTER

The Oregon Legislature has approved $24.8 million in state bonding to help fund a new building at Oregon State University’s Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport that will be a centerpiece for research and education on critical issues facing coastal communities. This impressive shot of the OSU campus was taken a couple of weeks ago with a very small, lightweight quad copter drone, courtesy of CEOAS Professor and UAS enthusiast Rob Holman. If you look at the grassy area across from Furman Hall you may see a group of folks peering up at the copter…that’s us! The copter was at appox 300 ft when this shot was taken.
