STILL A FEW SPOTS LEFT! You are invited to an informal chat over breakfast with Cindy Sagers and our new Associate VP for Research, Roy Haggerty, on Thursday Oct.13th from 7:30-8:30 (location tbd). This will be an opportunity for you to bring items to our attention that you feel should be addressed, or just a chance to get to know each other better. It will be a fairly intimate gathering, as only the first 10 people to respond will get a space at the table!
We will plan to do these breakfasts throughout the year…so if this timing doesn’t work for you, perhaps another one down the road will.

NEW BOX SERVICE NOW AVAILBLE AT OSU

Box is a cloud based service like Google Drive and Office365. It provides unlimited storage for everyone at OSU and is tied into our directory service for single sign-on and sharing resources across campus. If you are interested in having a training session for this tool or are currently using Google Drive or Office365 and are interesting in migrating your projects to Box, please contact Stephen Hotard at stephen.hotard@oregonstate.edu for more information. END OF SUMMER BBQ- THIS THURSDAY, 9/15

Friendly reminder that our annual End of Summer BBQ will be taking place this coming Thursday at 5pm in McAlexander Fieldhouse. RSVPs are now closed but if you haven’t RSVP’d online and want to come please send an email to jane.cigarran@oregonstate.edu…it shouldn’t be a problem. We look forward to seeing you and your families there…Pig Out BBQ will be on site grilling for us and we will have belalyers on site for the climbing wall (bring comfy shoes!) other fun activities for kids (small, big and adult-sized).  Hope to see you all at McAlexander Fieldhouse at 5pm on Thursday!

UNIVERSITY DAY REMINDER- SEPT 19

ALL UNITS- please bring any handouts, schwag, etc. to Mimi such that you’d like to be on the University Day table for the RO (it’s on Sept. 19, 12-2, Alumni Center). Thanks again to our volunteers  (Ben, Mark, Jillian, Rachel, Jianbo and Lesley!!) and a reminder set up should be done by 10:30am/ break down must be completed by 3:30pm.

It’s September and that means it’s Bring A Friend (or Enemy) For Free Month at Corvallis Bikram Yoga. You don’t need to be fit or good at yoga to do this…there are people of all ages, sizes and fitness levels in these classes. WELCOME KAY WHITE, EA FOR RESEARCH OFFICE OPERATIONS
Pat, Mark, Cindy and Jane are very pleased to announce that Kay White, currently special assistant for Finance & Administration and former executive assistant to the VP for F&A, will be joining the Research office as an Executive Assistant starting on Sept. 15th. Kay will be supporting OSRAA and ORI operations and will be located in Kerr B308. Her executive level support expertise has developed with seven years as an assistant to the VP for Finance & Administration at OSU and Linfield College along with fourteen years’ in a variety of technology support, training and development positions. Kay’s strong organizational and prioritization skills were shaped by her prior career as a lead respiratory therapist. In that role Kay was a member of the neonatal ICU and transport teams, as well as trauma and “code” teams at Sacred Heart General Hospital in Eugene. Please join us in welcoming Kay in to her new and important role in the Research office.

UNIVERSITY DAY VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!

Thanks Gillian, Rachel and Ben for offering to volunteer at University Day on Mon., Sept. 19 from noon-2 p.m. at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center. It would be great if we could have someone from each dept. on hand at some point during the day so OCCD and IACUC, if anyone is available for a portion of time on the 19th please let Mimi know.
