Tuesday, February 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. via Zoom. Facilitated by Liz Delf, College of Liberal Arts, CTL AI in Teaching and Learning Fellow.

AI Teaching Showcase

Ecampus and CTL are hosting a winter AI showcase to highlight ideas and exemplars about how to address AI in courses across modalities. Five faculty will share their techniques for integration of generative AI in on-campus and online teaching.  They will demonstrate ways that students are developing a critical understanding of how AI poses both opportunities and challenges for learning, and how thoughtfully designed assignments can guide students toward the appropriate use of AI tools to support learning goals.

Speakers will include Kristy Kelly and Todd Kesterson from the College of Liberal Arts, Doug Reese from the College of Agricultural Sciences, Park Muhonda from CEOAS, and Karen Elliott from the College of Health. Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Though capacity has been reached for on-campus attendance, you are invited to join the session on Zoom. Registration closes Tuesday, Feb 10

Decluttering Your Canvas Site

Explore strategies to streamline your Canvas site by removing outdated or unused content. This will help you simplify course management and reduce the need to make irrelevant materials accessible. Tuesday, Feb 24, from 1 to 1:50 p.m. via Zoom. Presented by Tasha Biesinger, UIT-Academic Technologies, and Katherine McAlvage, Ecampus.

Workshop: Engaging Students Across Modalities

Explore engagement strategies that translate across modalities including active learning techniques for in-class interaction and asynchronous online learning. The session will highlight engagement strategies that work at various class sizes, with an emphasis on high-enrolled courses and intentional integration of in-person and asynchronous learning. Wednesday, February 25, 2 to 2:50 p.m. in LINC 414. Presented by Shane Brown, College of Engineering, CTL Blended Learning Fellow; and Ashley D’Antonio, College of Forestry, CTL Teaching Excellence Fellow.
