When installing Office 2013 on a customer computer, the preferred method is to use SCCM for the installation. If you need to run a manual install please use one of the batch files from \\tss-softstore\Utilities\Office. This will ensure that the proper customization is included.

Follow-Up – Student Worker P: drives
After further discussion, the decision has been made to not provide Home folders to student workers as standard practice. Departments can request a Home folder for a student worker, but they need to be aware that they will be charged for the storage space. Work is currently underway to clean up existing P: drives; these will be addressed individually with the owning departments by the Accounts team.
Moving forward, any student worker account that does need a Home folder will need to have Exchange Attribute 7 set to “StudentHomeFolder.” Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
No Home folders for Student Workers after all
The decision has been made to not create Home folders for Student Workers as standard. If a department specifically requests a Home folder for a student worker that can be done, but the department will need to be aware that they will be charged for the storage space.
We are currently doing cleanup on Student Worker accounts and removing existing Home folders that do not currently have any data. Those Home folders that do have data will be addressed individually.
Any student worker that does need to have a Home folder will need to have Exchange Attribute 7 marked with “StudentHomeFolder.”
Campus MATLAB Site License
The University has purchased a campus site license for Mathwork’s MATLAB software, including MATLAB, Simulink, and a number of other software packages as well as more than 50 toolboxes. The software is now available at no cost to faculty, staff and students for use in instruction and non-commercial research, and it can be installed on university-owned or personal computers
Emergency Maintenance on OSU_Secure wireless network
Information Services performed emergency maintenance on the OSU_Secure wireless network at 6 AM this morning (Feb. 11th). After the maintenance, Mac and PC laptops should present a warning notification that the security certificate has changed. This is expected behavior; please click through the notification and you should not be presented with the warning again. If you do receive multiple requests to accept the certificate, please temporarily switch to OSU_Access and let us know.
We do not believe that Smartphones will present a warning based on the testing we have done, but we have not been able to test all platforms and operating systems.
