Seafood HACCP Segment 2 Course #11408 plus vessel HACCP plan workshop for Albacore Fishers

This special 1 day workshop is intended to provide Seafood HACCP Segment 2 course training and to help fishers develop their vessel HACCP plans.

The workshop will be held at the Gladys Valley Marine Studies Bldg at the Hatfield Marine Science Center, 2030 SE Marine Science Dr, Newport, OR.

The HACCP course will be held on July 1, 2024 from 8 am to 5 pm. 

After HACCP training, fishermen will work on building their own vessel HACCP plans from 5-8 pm.

Break snacks, lunch, and dinner provided.

This Seafood HACCP Segment 2 course requires completion of an online Seafood HACCP Segment 1 training ($175) from Cornell. Course participants will need to pay up front for Segment 1 and will fill out a reimbursement form at the in-person Segment 2 course.

Notifications of completion of Seafood HACCP Segment 1 training must be either emailed or handed in to the instructor, Christina DeWitt (christina.dewitt@oregonstate.edu). prior to July 1 at 8 am (the start of the Segment 2 class).

Financial support for both Seafood HACCP Segment 1 online training and this Seafood HACCP Segment 2 workshop is available through the Oregon Albacore Commission in partnership with the USDA and Oregon Coast Visitor’s Association’s Ocean Cluster Initiative. The costs for both segments will be covered in full for albacore fishermen with an active ODFW license who are up to date on their OAC assessments.
