Supporting students down the home stretch

The final weeks of the spring term bring special challenges for students simultaneously completing final assignments and assessments in multiple courses at the end of a long academic year. Fortunately, Oregon State University has plentiful resources and services tailored to help learners successfully navigate this stressful time.

  • Wondering where to direct your students for timely support? The OSU Experience website’s Student Resources page is a comprehensive resource to connect students to a spectrum of services including Ecampus and OSU-Cascades. From Academic Coaching to the Mind Spa and the Writing Center, this page is a one-stop resource for OSU support services and opportunities.
  • Looking for ways to provide meaningful encouragement to your students at this challenging period in the academic calendar? See guidance from the Academic Success Center: Ways to Show Support for Students at the End of the Term
  • Help students close out the term strong: Seeking practical ways to help your students finish the term well? Small Ways to Encourage & Support Students at the End of the Term provides three effective strategies for faculty to assist students with planning for Week 10 and Finals Week while encouraging self-care.
  • A resource for managing academic anxiety: Giving students space to write out their thoughts before a test can clear working memory and potentially reduce test anxiety. Encourage students to arrive early to the final if possible. Consider having the Academic Success Center’s Write It Out handout available so they can take five minutes before the exam to transition into the space and clear their minds.
