Job Application Experiences

The last job I have is a summer internship that I worked for a financial advice company located in Texas. However, due to the pandemic, I can’t go to Texas, so I had to work at home. I got this internship from my cousin, she was a close friend with the company’s CEO, she offers me a chance to have an interview with the company’s hire manager, she said this interview won’t be hard, just kind talk.

Before the interview, I feel nervous because I don’t have any real experience with an interview. On the day of the interview, the manager first askes my major, I respond. Then she asks what am I good at, I said I am good at researching and making PowerPoint. Then, the manager asks me if I have any questions to ask her, I said what is my job if I accept this internship, she says I am going to do market research, helping the company compare with competitors, also found any potential customers. After short thinking, I accept this internship.

My experience during the interview is quite exciting to be honest, maybe because I never have a real interview, anything for me is very new. Also, I feel very touched with the manager, who was very nice and speak slowly. I decide to work in the company because I think even management major students like me, still need their research skills and skill that can identify what are company’s weaknesses, also study from these successors. Besides, it is a great offer that I can work in the real workplace environment, I do not want to miss it.
