What I have learned from this class? I think it is something is about discrimination. You see, in China, most of people doesn’t even realize how discrimination can harm the work enviorment, they think that women is not qulified for most of job field, and it is common that when come to hire phase, HR place men before women.
For me, I think this is totally unfair to the female group. I have met a lot of females who have great abilities and skills level higher than males, but their manager never thinks they can handle important positions, even they provide that they are better. It reminds me of a movie called Flawless, the female character Laura Quinn, is the only female manager of London Diamond Corporation. If you watched the movie, you can tell she is a representative of discrimination, she has been asking for promotion many times, but they just place her request away every time. You can tell that she is a great female have talent in her job, and a hard-working personal type, it is only because her gender lets people don’t think she can handle advanced job places. After she finds out that the leader is going to fire her, she decides to work with the dustman to steal all the diamonds from the underground locker.
I can’t tell how long does discrimination is doing to last, but it is definitely not just about gender, your born place, race, skin color can also be the reason for discrimination. Like today, Asian people are getting bullied very hard at the workplace, at most time, they did nothing right, just because of their skin and race. It is hard for us to completely wipe the discrimination, but we can still value each person with their skills and abilities, not just only there gender, race, and skins.
