John has been with OSU Extension Service since 1994, serving as an Extension Forester and in a variety of leadership roles. His work focuses on restoration of eastern Oregon fire-adapted forested landscapes. He has degrees in forestry, wood science, and forest ecosystems/tree physiology, and is keenly interested in fire effects and prescribed fire. His fire quals include ENGB, FIRB, FEMO.
