Looking for new ideas for the humanities classroom? You’re not alone — traditional essay assignments have become fraught in the age of generative AI. Drop in for a lunchtime conversation on re-invigorating humanities teaching practices. The event will include three short presentations that focus on useful takeaways for faculty, followed by Q&A.
Each presenter will offer one pedagogical strategy that they developed over the summer as part of the OSU Center for the Humanities Teaching Innovation Fellowship. Presenters include:
- Amy Koehlinger, “Place-Based Pedagogy: Deep Listening in a Collaborative Field Class.” Amy will present alongside one of her field class students, Andi Scarbrough.
- Valeria Ochoa, “Utilizing VoiceThread for Final Presentations”
- Kim McAloney, “Learning to Lead: A Showcase of Student Praxis”
Thursday, November 13 at noon in MU 213. Refreshments will be served!
Sponsored by the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx).
