Boost SLE response rates to elevate student voices

The Spring 2025 Student Learning Experience (SLE) surveys remain open through Sunday, June 8. There is still time to take small actions that can raise the survey response rate to provide a more complete picture of student experiences in your courses.

For example, you can let students know the importance of their feedback, and how you use it to modify and enhance your courses. You can give reminders this week–in class, or as Canvas announcements or emails–about how to access SLEs. You can also provide assurances that student responses are anonymous and that you will not see their responses until after final grades have been submitted.

See Raising Response Rates for the Student Experience Survey from the Center for Teaching and Learning to learn more about the benefits of higher response rates, to explore seven strategies instructors successfully use to increase response rates, and to find sample language you can customize and share with your students.
