Oregon Diversity Career Symposium

It’s time to OWN YOUR STORY! The 2021 Oregon Diversity Career Symposium is tomorrow May 19, 2021 1-6pm. Join hundreds of UO and OSU students for a FREE half-day of interactive workshops, alumni panels, keynote speaker, and virtual networking opportunities with some of the biggest employers like Nike and Samaritan Health Services. This symposium is intentionally designed to help, prepare, and inspire students with marginalized identities on the path from college to career. While all students are invited to attend, this space was specifically created to empower marginalized identities to explore their experiences within the job search process/development. CPHHS Commencement Celebration

Ecampus Courses Restriction: Phase I Fall 2021 Registration

The Office of Student Success would like to update CPHHS students regarding Ecampus courses. Starting Fall 2021, the CPHHS will restrict registration access to Public Health Ecampus courses during Phase I of Registration in addition to the HDFS Ecampus courses already restricted. Students can register for Ecampus HDFS and Public Health courses during Phase II of registration. Please visit this website for more information on the Ecampus Registration Restrictions detailing specific courses that are restricted, when it is appropriate to request to enroll in an Ecampus course during Phase I and how to request enrolling in an Ecampus course during Phase I.

Center for Advancing Financial Education (CAFÉ)

The Center for Advancing Financial Education (CAFÉ) has launched their social media communication platform! CAFÉ invites you to follow their Instagram where they will be posting 2x/week. Their content will consist of important finance-related announcements and deadlines relevant to the OSU student community, and “Financial Tidbits” which provides resources, information, and insights that educates the community around financial matters.

CAFÉ also has a team of peers and professional staff to meet 1:1 with students starting fall 2021! During these appointments, upper-level financial literacy services are provided, such as financial planning or basic investing with one of the professional staff who is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Recruiting Beaver Connect Peer Mentors

Beaver Connect is looking for Peer Mentors for 2021-2022 mentoring teams! As a co-mentor you will be matched with a faculty member to lead crucial discussions on navigating college, achieving success, and getting more out of the OSU experience with a group of 3-4 new-to-OSU students. This position will help you make connections with faculty and peers and develop resume-building leadership skills!

The job application is open now and closes May 31, 2021. Positions start in late summer or early fall and last through spring 2022. Undergraduates who identify as students of color, first-generation, low-income, transfer, student-athletes, or have experience in the University Exploratory Studies Program are especially encouraged to apply!
