How many people are moving into the JSB?

The current count is 67 employees and 17 student employees.  However, when you include open positions, we are planning for 79 employees and 25 student employees.

Will we be the only ones in the building?

The JSB is two attached buildings, the main, two floor building and the single story annex to the south. USGS is located in the annex.  We will be the only ones with office space in the main two floor building, however, we will share common space areas with them.  USGS also has some non-office space located on the first floor.

What renovations are happening before we move in?

The building is undergoing a full HVAC upgrade as well as an electrical upgrade.  Overhead light fixtures are being replaced with indirect style fixtures.  The building will receive new flooring in all areas except bathrooms.  There will be reconfiguration of some existing walls as well as building of some additional walls.  The entire building interior will be repainted.

Where will I sit?

Individual desk assignments have not been made.  A general idea of which floor each department will be on can be found on the Building Layout page.

How will I access the the building when it is locked?

Our plan is to have the front door unlocked during business hours, with exact timing still to be determined.  The exterior doors of the building will be outfitted with proximity locks.  Employees will be able to unlock the doors with their OSU ID card.  Some employees will need to get an updated ID Card that has a HID chip in it.  We have a list of who needs a new card, and the committee will reach out with instructions.
