NEW TOMORROW! HC Bob Ross Paint Night
Calling all artists! Join us on Tuesday, November 7th from 6-7:30 p.m. in LInC 345 and 344 for an evening of Bob Ross painting! Meet new friends, paint along to a fall themed Bob Ross episode, and vote to crown the evening’s “Bob Ross” and “Picasso” artists, whose art will be hung on display in the SLUG. There will be food, drinks, prizes, and art supplies provided – however, feel free to bring your own supplies and show us what you got! Registration is limited to 40 slots – register here.

Volunteers Needed for Thesis Social Event
Are you passionate about your honors thesis? Would you like to share your experience in research or the thesis process with underclassmen? HCSA is looking for individuals passionate about their work who are willing to share in front of a small group of peers and talk about their project. This HCSA event aims to help underclassman understand what a thesis is really about and gives them the opportunity to ask questions to people who have recently been through the same process. NEW! Information sessions – Visit France With the HC This Summer
Come learn about this year’s HC study abroad program! Centered in Lyon, France, this 16-day study abroad program from June 18 to July 3 will allow students to earn colloquium credits through activities integrating the theme of “Commodities, Cafes and Climate Change.” Information sessions for the France trips will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 2:30-4 p.m. in LInC 446 and Thursday, Nov. 16 2:30-4 p.m. in LInC 444. Prospective students will only need to attend one information session.

NEW! Roundhouse Foundation Marine Studies Innovation Lab Scholarship
The Roundhouse Foundation Marine Studies Innovation Lab Scholarship supports Oregon State University undergraduate students in their second year or more of study who are participating in a paid internship with the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) Innovation Lab (iLab) in Newport, Oregon. Recipients will be students in any college at Oregon State University who are interested in developing the programs and operations of the HMSC iLab. Students are considered for both the internship and the scholarship based on their application for the scholarship. Applications are due Sunday, Dec. 3rd.

HC Differential Tuition Emergency Grant
The Honors College encourages students experiencing unusual financial challenges to apply for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant of $500. This is not a scholarship and is designed to provide short-term, immediate support. Contact bailey.garvin@oregonstate.edu or an Honors College advisor with questions.
HC Experiential Award Application

Corvallis Environmental Center (Job Opportunity)
The Corvallis Environmental Center is looking for two bilingual Spanish-speaking educators to join their team. These educators will play a vital role in both the Farm to School and after-school environmental education programs for elementary-aged children, covering the school year and summer camps. They will deliver instruction in both English and Spanish as necessary. Responsibilities encompass various activities such as classroom cooking education, garden classes, field trips, and leading lessons and games focused on ecology, science, and skill-building during summer camps and environmental education programs. Additionally, the position may involve participation in other education programs, serving as a teacher or substitute when required, which includes Schools Out Adventures, NaturePlay preschool, field trips, and custom education programs. Participate in a research study exploring the role comfort food plays in identity development and maintenance among first and second generation Latino immigrants in Western Oregon. The Basic Needs Center (BNC) has a Textbook Lending Library open to all on-campus students that includes books, calculators, chemistry model sets, and more. Visit their Textbook Lending Program website to see resources available at the BNC. Starting Monday, September 18, visit the BNC in-person at Champinefu Lodge to check out course materials.

“Forgot Your Lunch?” Station Available in SLUG
The Honors College is back with a “Forgot Your Lunch?” station for you to have a snack or light lunch if you ever need it. Whether you need food because you forgot your lunch, are low on money or simply need a snack, please help yourself to this free resource. The resource is self-serve and can be accessed any time that the SLUG is open in the kitchen area. The student computer lab and lounge (the SLUG) on the third floor of LInC 340 will be open:
- Monday-Thursday – 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
- Friday – 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Saturday – noon- 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday – 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
