NEW! HC Year-end Lunch
Honors College students are invited to a special lunch event with 2023 Oregon State University commencement speaker and Honors College alum Dr. Charity Dean, ’00, on Friday, June 16 from 12-1 p.m. in LInC 343 Dr. Dean-the first Honors College graduate to speak at commencement -will discuss her career and answer questions from attendees. Space is highly limited, so you are encouraged to RSVP for this unique opportunity early to reserve your spot. Lunch will be provided. RSVP with kevin.stoller@oregonstate.edu.
THIS WEEK! Graduation Celebration
Spring and summer 2023 graduates are invited to join Honors College faculty and staff for the 2023 Honors College Graduation Celebration. There will be opportunities for photos, gifts and light refreshments. Students and families are welcome to arrive anytime between 4 and 5:30 on Friday, June 16 on the LInC Lawn. Please RSVP here. ONGOING! HC Annual Survey
HC students we want to hear from you! The Honors College is committed to improving and developing programs and curriculum for our students, and your feedback is a crucial part of the process. Please fill out the HC Annual Survey here to tell us about your year. It is a short survey should only take 5-10 minutes. If you complete the survey by Friday June 30, you can enter a raffle for a $50 gift card to the OSU Beaver Store.
HC Courses Available at Hatfield Marine Science Center
This fall, an expanded array of courses is available to undergraduate and graduate students at Oregon State University Hatfield Marine Science Center. Studying on the coast provides an opportunity for students to gain valuable lab and field experience in a small class environment. Students have an opportunity to live on the Hatfield campus in the heart of the Oregon coast. For students who need to commute, a daily Coast-to-Valley Shuttle is available. Information about different classes can be found here. Priority registration opens May 21. See Academic Calendar for all dates. Do you have any tips for younger HC students? Do you have a unique HC experience you want to share? Do you want to have a piece of your writing published on the Honors Link blog? Apply to write an article for the HC’s Inside Scoop series. These are short (500-1000) word articles that capture aspects of being an honors student. Submit an article pitch here and get the inside scoop from other students on our blog.

Scholarship & Financial Aid Opportunities
NEW! Marine Studies Initiative Coastal Housing Awards
Because of generous donor support, a new award of $500 is now available for students who are seeking field housing at the coast and in need of financial assistance. These awards are for students studying at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Fall 2023. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, June 27. Awards will be distributed to the student’s OSU account. SNAP Outreach at the BNC
Students may be eligible for $234 a month in grocery funds! SNAP is a federal nutrition benefits program and the Basic Needs Center Center at Oregon State assists with applications! For more information visit the SNAP link here.
HC Differential Tuition Emergency Grant
The Honors College encourages students experiencing unusual financial challenges to apply for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant of $500. This is not a scholarship and is designed to provide short-term, immediate support. Contact bailey.garvin@oregonstate.edu or an Honors College advisor with questions.
HC Experiential Award Application
Honors students who have submitted a thesis proposal are eligible to apply for an Honors Experiential Scholarship of up to $750 in support of participation at a professional conference or engagement in thesis research. Contact Kevin Stoller at kevin.stoller@oregonstate.edu with questions.

NEW! Transdisciplinary Research Coordinator
Oregon State University is hiring for the position of Transdisciplinary Research Coordinator, come work with us! The Office for Research Advancement (ORA) within the Office of the Vice President for Research seeks a full-time professional to manage ORA’s efforts to advance transdisciplinary, collaborative, and solutions-oriented research. This position will support the efforts of the ORA Team and report to the Director of Transdisciplinary Research. They will engage and collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership across administrative units, colleges, centers, and external partners as they manage program development, program implementation activities, and communications to advance transdisciplinary research at OSU. Applications are due Wednesday, June 28! Major duties include collaborative development of transdisciplinary programs, operational management of program implementation and logistics; tracking and evaluation of program outcomes; and communications with external audiences to celebrate successes and invite partnership. This year-long paid internship is generally focused on acquisitions and editorial work, but every intern tends to get slightly different work based on their interests and skills. We’re a small crew at the press and the intern is an integral part of the team, with opportunities to work and network with the whole staff and learn about the entire publishing process. Fujifilm Dimatix Training Coordinator Job Opportunity
Fujifilm Dimatix is seeking an enthusiastic and thorough person to engage cross-functional teams including representatives from various groups under Operations to help build and administer a more robust training program for its production technicians and trainers. This essential role will support production technicians, technician trainers, leads, and supervisors to insure training coverage and competency across all production shifts. The Training Coordinator will manage training and certification activities for production technicians throughout the training phases, as well as onboarding of engineers and general staff. Not sure where to find the information and resources you are looking for to better navigate your time at OSU? Looking for tutoring services, basic needs support, financial aid information or where to find campus events? Not sure where to go? Strategists at the Academic Success Center have you covered! Drop-in to Waldo 125 anytime Mon-Fri 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. to meet with a Strategist. Strategists can answer questions, connect you with campus resources, introduce you to academic success strategies and more.
Anytime Anywhere: MySSP @ OSU App
Anytime Anywhere: MySSP @ OSU is an app that gives all OSU students, including Ecampus students, 24/7 access by text or phone with a licensed mental health counselor (MySSP stands for “My Student Support Program”). The app makes it easy to schedule short-term counseling appointments with the same ongoing counselor and provides educational materials covering mental health topics. Students can communicate with a counselor in five different languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Spanish or English); additional language options are available upon request. Do you need a scientific, financial or graphing calculator? The Valley Library has calculators to loan. The library also has loanable tools such as laptops, tablets and computer accessories like chargers, headphones, flash drives, ergonomic mice and more—for all your midterm and finals needs! Togetherall: New Mental Health Resource for OSU Students
Togetherall is a safe, online community to share anonymously and get support to improve mental health and well-being. The Togetherall community is available 24/7 and is monitored by licensed mental health practitioners. Join the community and learn more here.
HC Resources
The Honors College main office in LInC 450 is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. HC staff is on hand during business hours to assist with questions, help with scheduling appointments or just chat and share some free candy. You can also get in touch with the main office by contacting honors.college@oregonstate.edu or by calling 541.737.6400.
- The student computer lab and lounge (the SLUG) on the third floor of LInC 340 will be open:
- Monday-Thursday – 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
- Friday – 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Saturday – noon- 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday – 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

“Forgot Your Lunch?” Station Available in SLUG
The Honors College is back with a “Forgot Your Lunch?” station for you to have a snack or light lunch if you ever need it. Whether you need food because you forgot your lunch, are low on money or simply need a snack, please help yourself to this free resource.
