#Week 7

This is week 7 right now. We are done with the Team Design Document. Due to the team member’s change, we had to do extra works. This week we do not have a plan to do the third persona. I have to make an extra Figma prototype for the last two weeks. I am starting to learn about Figma on Youtube. The new use case will be texting to the vets and uploading the records to the database.

#Class Plan

Today is the first day to choose the class for the next term. I have a question about CS461. Do we have to pick Cs462 and Cs463 for the next two terms? If we did not choose the Cs462 and Cs463 for the next two term, will it affect my team member? These two are the quesitons I want to ask.

#Future Plan

We will keep doing use case test for the next week. Other than that, I will make a new prototype for the new use case. Keeping improving UI is the most important thing that we are working on right now. We will have a team meeting someday next week to discuss our next step and to determine that if all pages are satisfied with the requirements as well.

#Week 6

It is week 6. It is my sixth blog right now. My team and I were done with the second user test. This time, the persona had some experience with computers. Thus, it was easier to examine the use case for him. According to the user test, we are almost done with the prototype on Figma. We had a couple of pages to make an appointment, add data on, and record your own pets. On the top right corner, there are different buttons to switch the page which were very nice.

#Bad News

The bad news this week was, one of my team members was concerning to quit this term due to his personal reason. He said he will make a decision in the next few days. Before he makes a decision, he will try his best to help us to finish the things that we are working on. I want to know if we are facing this situation, what will happen to our team? Are we just going to finish the course by three of us?

#Next Week Plan

We are done with the prototype this week, so we will be working on the user interface and database part. We decide to make a warm and clean Ui that had an ash background color with some blue on the top. The database we decide to use firebase. That is what we going to do for the next week.

Week 5!

There a lot of things going on this week. I am taking many midterms. Thus, this week is heavy for me. Our team is doing the first user test this weekend. Everything was successful. We recorded the entire user test and filled out 3 sub-goals gm forms. However, we are still working on the user interface according to the user test. We hope to make it warm and simple. Therefore, the user who does not have experience with technology can still learn it and use it easily.

New tools!

Since I have learned React and decide to use it for our project. I did not notice there is another free and open-source CSS framework called bootstrap. After I watched the Youtube tutorial of it, it helps me a lot to build my front-end. Especially when I am setting up the CSS and javascript of the buttons and navigation, I just need to put a source link. I do not know if it is allowed in the cs461 class, but I was allowed in my Cs340 class.

Next Week Plan

We will be running the second user test next week and keep working on the user interface. I am done with persona this week, so I will be helping the team to build the user interface or the database part next week. I think each of my term members has a mind to make a good final project. All tasks are completed on time and uploaded the processing on the click up application. Hopefully, everyone has a good score on the midterm!☺

#Week 4！！

Half term is gone already. Each of us in the group was assigned to do something for the project. I am responsible for user research. I did some research on google about user research, it listed a lot of different aspects of users’ need. I think user research takes plenty of time to test the application until users are satisfied with our web-application. It might be complicated for me.

The good thing this week is, our group meeting is always on time and successful. It always made everything go efficiently. Now, we are using a new tool called click up. Thus, each of us in the team can assign each other tasks. Once we finish it, others will know about it. I think this tool is really good for teamwork.

#Technology Review

After I read about the discussion board. I found a lot of new IDE and Databases that I have not used before. I gave me a lot of ideas about my project. However, my group has decided what to use already. I will try to learn about other tools by myself on Youtube.

#Class

This week, we are writing about Technology Review and Implementation Plan. It seems like our project went more specifically. As I said at the top, each of us in the group was assigned to different jobs. The assignment listed the parts of the project very clearly such as the UI part, database, and display part. I think it is an important stage for us to think about how are we going to make our project. This week, I think my group will make a draft user interface. We will finish it before next Friday.

This is week 3 already!!!

The difficulty I have met is not in this class. I am studying CS450 this term as well. This class is the intro to computer graphics. I am supposed to finish a Helicopter by C++. It is my first time using OpenGL. Thus, everything is new to me. I spent a lot of time on lectures and finally, I finished it!!!

#Project!

I was sad at first because my personal problem statement was 38 points. Fortunately, I had a chance to resubmit it. I knew the reason is that my writing is too conversational. Then, I made an appointment with the ing center to deal with this problem. The writing center was really helpful to me. He gave me a lot of ideas on the audience side. Additionally, he gave me some suggestions that make my paper more professionally.

For my group project, it went really well. All my group members are reliable. Every member was assigned different parts of the group project. After we finished each part, we asked other group members to check the work. Finally, we had full points in this project.

#Class

This week we had an assignment that asks us to write the requirement documents. However, it is not the same as the first assignment because the first assignment gave us an example. It is difficult for me because there is no format for the required documents. Thus, I did search online. I do not know if it is right. It will be really helpful if there is an example like the first assignment.☺

#Week 2

This is week 2 already. Finally, we decided what we are going to do for our project. As I said in blog #1, I am a pet lover. Thus, my final project is my pet pal!!! 👏👏👏👏👏

Group projects are always not easy. As long as there is more than one person, we will have a different voice in a group. The biggest challenge this week is we still have not got everyone’s response yet. Especially it is NBA final seasons right now, we have to delay the meeting to Monday due to this reason. Hopefully, we could make it done on monday.

#Intresting tool

I am always busy switching coding tool when I am taking all different classes which require using different coding language. Finally, I found an application name sublime text 3. It can switch to different languages easily and the interface is clear as well. However, it can only help you with coding, but it cannot test any codes. Thus, you still need to use other compilers to test your code.

# My own thought

This class is going well. I followed the steps to find the best project for me. Following the instruction, we made a team, found the management tool which suits us, and made the team rule. It is all going well in these two weeks. However, a group project needs to be done by us. Each person needs to be assigned to different parts of the project. I am worried about this because I have experienced a lot of team projects in my college life. I have met a lot of people who do not really care about the team project. Thus, the ethical dilemma I am always facing is responsibility. People are not responsible for others. They do not really know if they do not finish their job it might affect others.

#Conclusion
