ABOUT ROOTS OF RESILIENCE

Roots of Resilience: Roots of Resilience supports early childhood teachers and providers in nurturing resilience with children impacted by trauma. Roots of Resilience utilizes a trauma-informed approach, focuses on strengths, and is based on the latest science as well as best practices.

The Online Course: This self-paced online 6 module course is designed for adults working with children ages 3-5 years (child care, preschool, Head Start) and may also be relevant for others. Each module reinforces core concepts in early childhood education, and adds a trauma-informed and resilience-building perspective. The course is guided by an instructor at Oregon State University, and utilizes a coursebook for activities and applied practices.

Continuing Education Credit: 30 hours of Set Two Training from the Oregon Registry. Includes time for applied practices between modules, and short readings.  The Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) accepts Oregon Registry hours.

Cost: $300 online. Coursebook is available for an additional $45 for hard copy (includes shipping), or free online.

Group Discount: 25% group discount for teachers of 5 or more. Please contact Shannon.Lipscomb@osucascades.edu for information.
