Blog Post #3

Well this week my team completed our Project Plan! For this we decided that our Dating App for Animal Adoption will be a Web based application. The technologies that we will be using to make this happen with be React for our front end development. Trusty NodeJS and Express will be used for our back end work.

We agreed to host our site on Google Cloud Platform and utilize Google Datastore for housing our data. The challenge in my eyes though is going to using Google Storage for picture storage. I have never done any sort of uploading, retrieving, and deleting of images by a user. But I gladly accept this challenge knowing it will greatly improve my skill sets.

My team used Figma to do some basic UI/UX design to gives us an idea of how our pages will look and flow. This was only my second time using Figma but do feel as if it is a great tool for designing UI/UX. Having never used React outside of a tutorial that I just completed yesterday it is going to be interested implementing out designs.

I have done some mobile application work with React-Native so some of the things in the tutorial we sounding familiar. So I don’t expect there to be too step of a learning curve. I say that now but surely I will get stuck on some concept, I know it…

But I am excited to report back here next week once I have some more hands on experience with React and start implementing it on the team project!
