Day 23:
“Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we’re going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don’t know, I don’t know if we’ll have enough time.”
-Frank from Old School
3 reasons to come to the career fair instead of running errands (like Frank), updating your Facebook status, golfing, or watching Jersey Shore:
- It’s a down economy, yes; however you can get tons of exposure to awesome companies who are specifically looking to hire YOU, OSU students. Invest a little time now and it will pay off.
- Employers want YOU. Most recruiters that come to the career fair realize you’re still in school. Yet they are recruiting you in anticipation that you might need a summer job, internship, or maybe you’re going to graduate in the spring and need a full-time job. Wherever you’re at in your college career chances are there’s an employer who is looking to fill those spots now and will reserve a place for you when the time is right.
- There’s always lots of time to update your status, blog, shoot hoops, or catch up on all your DVR’d shows, but make sure you allot a little time to investing in your future. Don’t miss a golden opportunity to network in person!
