Faculty Member Aids in Building the COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Model for Oregon Pharmacies

OSU College of Pharmacy faculty member Dr. Jessina McGregor and Drs. Joseph Agor and Hector Vergara for the College of Engineering are leading an effort, with input from various pharmacy retailers, to create Covid-19 vaccine distribution modeling that explores the geography, population distribution, pharmacy locations, product depoing opportunities relating to cold storage requirements, and licensed immunizing personnel availability in various areas of the state.  The intent of this project is to provide Oregon pharmacies and state decision-makers with useful modeling tools essential to optimizing public health outcomes relating to the achievement of effective herd immunity and reduced mortality among Oregon’s population.
