The Oregon State University Extension office in Crook County will host a send-off event for Isaiah and Jeremiah Godby of the Health Extension Run at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, in Ochoco Creek Park in Prineville.

Kids and adults are invited to run, walk or bike with the runners for about a quarter of a mile as they leave Prineville and continue their journey. The Extension’s Nutrition Education Program will offer samples of a whole grain recipe and information about the nutrition program and other extension programs and activities will be available. Attendees can also try out the “smoothie bike,” a bicycle with an attached blender that is powered by pedaling.

The Crook County 4-H Dog Fair will follow the send-off event. It begins at 9 a.m. in the park.
