National Bike Month at OSU

Did you know that 12% of people who attend class or work on OSU’s Corvallis campus get around by bike?

May is National Bike Month, and the Spring Bike Challenge at OSU is almost here. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than riding a bike here on our beautiful campus, as everything bursts into bloom. Read on for updates and happenings this month.

Spring Bike Challenge

The Spring Bike Challenge rewards the three teams that tally the most daily rides in May.

All biking skill levels are welcome!  Form a team of friends, co-workers or classmates. Join the ZAP Biking Rewards program and ride your bikes to win.

What are the secrets of winning a ZAP Bike Challenge? Here are some tips for every rider, inspired by multi-time winners the Krebs Cyclers.

  • Ride on OSU Corvallis campus daily to get the most ZAPs. ZAPs are logged to your ZAP rider profile.
  • Keep an eye on your personal and team stats. Find them on your ZAP profile
  • Gear up team spirit! Custom team shirts, sharing treats, and celebrating team members who break personal records can motivate riders.
  • Build your team to full capacity. Up to ten riders can join each team.
  • Have fun!

ZAP and 529 Garage Registration Events

ZAP is OSU’s biking rewards program. 529 Garage is a national bike registry used to increase bike security. Drop by and bring your bike to get started with these free programs. While there, you can also sign up teams for Spring Bike Challenge
