Welcome to the Sudden Oak Death Outreach and Education site. This site is hosted by the Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Program in Coos and Curry Counties as part of a coordinated outreach effort to help landowners and the general public keep up-to-date on Sudden Oak Death news, upcoming workshops and citizen science opportunities.
Partners
LeBoldus Lab at Oregon State University. The LeBoldus lab studies forest pathology and the interactions between fungal and oomycete pathogens with their plant hosts, focusing on dissecting the virulence mechanisms used by these pathogens.
Natural Resource Conservation Service. Farmers, ranchers and forest landowners can receive financial assistance from NRCS to make improvements to their land. NRCS conservationists provide technical expertise and conservation planning for farmers, ranchers and forest landowners wanting to make conservation improvements to their land. Oregon Department of Forestry. The Oregon Department of Forestry’s Sudden Oak Death Program is part of an interagency task force that works with affected landowners to slow the spread of sudden oak death (SOD, caused by Phytophthora ramorum) in Curry County.
United States Forest Service. The United State Forest Service is part of the interagency task force working to slow the spread of Sudden Oak Death (SOD) with survey and detection efforts.
