Invitation
To the extent that we can root our teaching personas in more authentic-to-us ways of being, we can engage our students more meaningfully and more fully in the transformational learning we aspire to achieve. — Liz Norell, The Present Professor
Join the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Difference, Power, and Oppression Program for our winter term Inclusive Pedagogies Book Club featuring Elizabeth A. Norell’s The Present Professor: Authenticity and Transformational Teaching. Together we will reflect on Norell’s insights into how educators can bring their full selves to their teaching, foster meaningful connections with students, and create spaces for growth and belonging, as well as strategize ways to incorporate these insights into our own teaching practices.
Structure
The Inclusive Pedagogies Book Club will gather once during the term for discussion of the book. We will meet in Week 9, and participants may choose to join in-person or remotely:
- Corvallis campus: Thursday, March 5, 3 to 5 p.m.
- Zoom: Friday, March 6, 1 to 3 p.m.
Eligibility
