Closing the gap between students and seawater

Over this past year, UIT Academic Technologies partnered with the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport to upgrade the seawater classrooms with state-of-the-art camera systems and technology that will enable students to engage in hands-on-learning from anywhere in the world. The upgrade also includes new overhead camera systems that will allow instructors to get their students up close to the seawater tables during instruction and demonstrations streamed online.

Academic Technologies Technical Services Director Marc Cholewczynski talks about the problem space and the solution, and how this technology can and will help students and researchers in Oregon and beyond get as close as they can to their research.
