Andy is giving at talk at ATBC 2013 in San Jose Monday, June 24 at 3:35 in the symposium entitled “Exploring Applications of DNA Barcode Data in Conservation and Ecological Research”. Symposium schedule and details are here.
Andy is off to Panama for the summer to begin the field work associated with our NSF funded project on tropical seedling response to drought under climate change. The project is based in Gamboa, Panama at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. We’ll be mapping trees across the rainfall gradient in Panama and collecting plant tissue for genetic analyses.
Pearse et al. have a new publication in press at Ecology. Good job, Will!
Congratulations to Megan O’Connell, OSU biology major and budding tropical ecologist. Megan has been awarded an internship at STRI for the summer of 2013. Megan will be working with us on the drought responses of seedlings project. Way to go Megan!
