We are providing an opportunity for you to get to know college deans and students from across campus. Meet OSU’s academic leaders, learn about opportunities in your college, and connect with other honors students in your college and major. THIS WEEK! Dean and Friends Lunch on Preparing for a Career in Healthcare
All Honors College students are invited to a Dean and Friends Lunch conversation on Preparing for a Career in Healthcare with Dr. Robert Bentley, ’78, on Wednesday, April 3rd from 12-12:50 p.m. in MU 211. Dr. Bentley, a graduate of the honors program at Oregon State in microbiology, will offer insights into different medical career pathways, preparing for a career in medicine and medical school admissions processes, as well as answer questions. How the Court System Affects You More than You Think – A Dean and Friends Lunch Conversation with Judge Mary Deits Rousseau (rescheduled event)
All Honors College students are invited to a special Dean and Friends lunch conversation with Judge Mary Deits Rousseau on “How the Court System Affects You More than You Think” on Friday, April 12th from noon-12:50 p.m. in LInC 345. Judge Rousseau was named an Honors College Alumni Fellow by the Oregon State University Alumni Association in 2023 and is a member of the Honors College Board of Regents, the college’s leadership advisory group. After graduating from the honors program at Oregon State in 1971, she became the second woman to serve on the Oregon Court of Appeals and one of the first in the country to be a Chief Judge of a state Court of Appeals. At this discussion, she’ll share reflections on how the courts affect us all in our everyday lives and how the role of the courts is changing. She’ll also answer questions about her own career path and experiences. Sign up to attend by emailing Kevin Stoller at kevin.stoller@oregonstate.edu. Lunch will be provided and space is limited. This event was originally scheduled in January but was delayed due to university cancellations.

Scholarship & Financial Aid Opportunities
HC Differential Tuition Scholarship
The HC Differential Tuition Scholarship application will be opening on Friday, March 15th and will remain open until Tuesday, April 16th. All current HC students are eligible to apply. This scholarship will cover all or part of the Honors Differential tuition. Please apply through ScholarDollars.
HC Differential Tuition Emergency Grant
The Honors College encourages students experiencing unusual financial challenges to apply for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant of $500. This is not a scholarship and is designed to provide short-term, immediate support. Contact bailey.garvin@oregonstate.edu or an Honors College advisor with questions.
HC Experiential Award Application
Honors students who have submitted a thesis proposal are eligible to apply for an Honors Experiential Scholarship of up to $750 in support of participation at a professional conference or engagement in thesis research. Contact Kevin Stoller at kevin.stoller@oregonstate.edu with questions.

The Honors College is accepting applications for 6 in person START Assistants for this coming summer. START Assistants will welcome and engage with incoming students and help connect students with academic advisors both in person and on Zoom. OSU Energy Efficiency Center is Hiring
Would you be interested in an on-campus job working with industry clients to reduce energy use and improve productivity, while applying what you are learning in your classes? The OSU Energy Efficiency Center (EEC) is looking for motivated student energy analysts to work part-time during the school year (10-20 hrs/week) and during the summer (~40 hrs/week). The OSU EEC offers comprehensive, student-led, on-site energy and productivity assessments to small and medium-sized manufacturers through a US Department of Energy funded program. Student teams advised by engineering faculty visit manufacturers and seek ways to increase their productivity and reduce energy use and waste. Learn more about the OSU Energy Efficiency Center here. College of Agricultural Science Undergraduate Research
The College of Ag is currently accepting applications for the Continuing Researcher Support Program. This program provides up to $1700 to undergraduate students with prior research experience who are seeking support to conduct a semi-independent research project with a College of AgSci faculty member. Projects can be conducted in summer term ($700 award), academic year (fall, winter, spring – $1000 award), or full year ($1700 award). The deadline to apply is Friday, April 12. Questions? Summer Internship – Construction Management
Chevron has an opening for a summer Facilities Engineering Construction Management Intern. This position is available to students pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Construction Management. Beaver Freezer Triathlon Volunteering Opportunity
On Saturday, Apr. 20, the Oregon State Triathlon Club is hosting the Beaver Freezer Triathlon in front of Dixon Recreation Center! To make this race run smoothly, we need as many volunteers as possible. That means that we need YOU! We have many opportunities for volunteers and no experience is required. Anyone is welcome! If you volunteer, you will get free food, a free shirt, and free gratitude from our coordinators! Oregon Coast Summer Field Courses at Hatfield Marine Science Center
This summer, participate in Oregon State University’s undergraduate field courses hosted at Hatfield Marine Science Center and the central Oregon coast. Study at the sea and immerse yourself in coastal living and learning while earning college credit. Open to students from all institutions, and all students receive the advantage of in-state tuition. The Basic Needs Center (BNC) has a Textbook Lending Library open to all on-campus students that includes books, calculators, chemistry model sets, and more. HC Resources
The Honors College main office in LInC 450 is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. HC staff is on hand during business hours to assist with questions, help with scheduling appointments or just chat and share some free candy. Need a way to deepen your understanding of course material, discuss challenging concepts and study for upcoming exams and assignments with your fellow Beavs? Sign up for the fall term HC study groups! Study groups are a great way to receive extra academic support in any of your courses. “Forgot Your Lunch?” Station Available in SLUG
The Honors College is back with a “Forgot Your Lunch?” station for you to have a snack or light lunch if you ever need it. Whether you need food because you forgot your lunch, are low on money or simply need a snack, please help yourself to this free resource. The resource is self-serve and can be accessed any time that the SLUG is open in the kitchen area. The student computer lab and lounge (the SLUG) on the third floor of LInC 340 will be open:
- Monday-Thursday – 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
- Friday – 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Saturday – noon- 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday – 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
These resources are available throughout the term.
