HCSA Food Drive
HCSA is collecting donations for Linn Benton Food Share for the whole month of February. This non-profit organization works to provide supplemental food boxes, serve emergency meals, stock food pantries, and support individuals facing food insecurity in Linn and Benton County. There will be donation boxes near the front desks of Sackett and West Halls. If you’re interested in donating another way (cash, check, donation pickup, etc.) please contact Payton Sprando at sprandop@oregonstate.edu to organize this. We would appreciate all of you participating in the food drive!

THIS WEEK! 2024 Schoenstein Sustaining Excellence Scholarship
Recognizing and celebrating community engaged leaders, The Schoenstein Sustaining Excellence Scholarship is now open for applications. Offered by the OSU Alumni Association (OSUAA), this award honors students who demonstrate a commitment to advancing a more caring and equitable OSU and/or local community. The selection of five OSU undergraduate recipients is coordinated by OSUAA in partnership with Community Engagement & Leadership (CEL) for a one-time scholarship of $2,000. Students from all OSU campuses may apply. Learn more and applyby Thursday, Feb. 15.
HC Differential Tuition Emergency Grant
The Honors College encourages students experiencing unusual financial challenges to apply for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant of $500. This is not a scholarship and is designed to provide short-term, immediate support. Contact bailey.garvin@oregonstate.edu or an Honors College advisor with questions.
HC Experiential Award Application
Honors students who have submitted a thesis proposal are eligible to apply for an Honors Experiential Scholarship of up to $750 in support of participation at a professional conference or engagement in thesis research. Contact Kevin Stoller at kevin.stoller@oregonstate.edu with questions.

The Center for Advocacy, Prevention and Education (CAPE) is hiring a new student worker! The CAPE Survivor Advocacy Assistant will work to create a welcoming and safe environment in the CAPE offices for survivors accessing direct services. In addition, this role will provide community coordination and connection with both campus and community-based partners, and will provide outreach and education about Survivor Advocacy throughout OSU. The College of Ag is currently accepting applications for the Continuing Researcher Support Program. This program provides up to $1700 to undergraduate students with prior research experience who are seeking support to conduct a semi-independent research project with a College of AgSci faculty member. Projects can be conducted in summer term ($700 award), academic year (fall, winter, spring – $1000 award)), or full year ($1700 award). Deadline to apply is April 12, 2024. Questions? NEW! Undergraduate Research Opportunities in Fish Behaviorscapes Lab
The Fish Behaviorscapes Lab in the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservations Sciences (FWCS) is offering two student research opportunities for summer 2024. The first is the Vanguarding an Inclusive Ecological Workforce (VIEW) Fellowship, a paid research program that supports the professional development of future ecologists from communities that historically have been excluded or are currently underrepresented in the field. Previous experience in this field is not required. Complete the Application Form included on the VIEW page and email to FW.internship@oregonstate.edu by Thursday, Feb. 22 at midnight. The second opportunity is a Fisheries Technician Position to assist with conducting fisheries surveys in rivers in La Grande, OR. The position is open to students with two years of undergraduate coursework in a relevant field (ecology, fisheries, wildlife, etc.) Apply here by March 10.

Healthcare Internship Opportunity – MCORRP Summer Internship Applications Open
Through generous support from Dr. Kim Eagle ’76, the HC is privileged to offer students the opportunity to apply for an internship with the Michigan Clinical Outcomes Research and Reporting Program (MCORRP). This year there will be 2 students selected. This summer internship program is a 10 week opportunity, from early June to August, at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. TODAY! Romania International Service Trip Info Session
Info session on Monday, Feb. 12, 4-5:00 p.m. in LINC 343/Zoom link here. Take your good intentions, immerse them in a blended Romanian/Hungarian/German community culture, and build hope with a local housing non-profit in the Transylvanian region of Romania. No experience necessary — just a willingness to help families in need, an openness to broadening your perspective, and the desire to discover that our world is more connected that it seems. The program runs from September 8-18, 2024.

Apply for the Alternative Spring Break Program
Alternative Break offers week-long service & leadership programs traveling to several locations on the west coast during OSU’s spring break (March 23rd-29th, 2024). Join groups of 10-12 students in multi-day, overnight programs in one of three PNW communities to learn its historical, cultural, and political background. Engage in a variety of direct service projects, educational sessions, and reflective dialogue with leaders in their respective communities. This program is an opportunity to explore the complexity of social issues, reflect on ones own assumptions, and develop the ability to lead for social change, all while connecting with fellow OSU students! Borrow your Textbooks for Free!
The Basic Needs Center (BNC) has a Textbook Lending Library open to all on-campus students that includes books, calculators, chemistry model sets, and more. Visit their Textbook Lending Program website to see resources available at the BNC. Visit the BNC in-person at Champinefu Lodge to check out course materials.
HC Resources
The Honors College main office in LInC 450 is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. HC staff is on hand during business hours to assist with questions, help with scheduling appointments or just chat and share some free candy. Need a way to deepen your understanding of course material, discuss challenging concepts and study for upcoming exams and assignments with your fellow Beavs? Sign up for the fall term HC study groups! Study groups are a great way to receive extra academic support in any of your courses. “Forgot Your Lunch?” Station Available in SLUG
The Honors College is back with a “Forgot Your Lunch?” station for you to have a snack or light lunch if you ever need it. Whether you need food because you forgot your lunch, are low on money or simply need a snack, please help yourself to this free resource. The resource is self-serve and can be accessed any time that the SLUG is open in the kitchen area. The student computer lab and lounge (the SLUG) on the third floor of LInC 340 will be open:
- Monday-Thursday – 7:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
- Friday – 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Saturday – noon- 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday – 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
These resources are available throughout the term.
